Our mission is offer Primary, Secondary and higher Secondary education to underprivileged children, regardless of cast or religion. We serve the provinces of Waghodia, Sankheda, Dabhoi, Chhota Udepur, Kawant and Naswadi with a focus on the Rathwa and Vasava tribal communities. Currently, we support 160 children aged 6 to 20 providing them with accommodation, meals, tuition, computer education and sports facilities. However, our catering expenses- including food grains, vegetables, snacks, firewood and wages are substantial, with only one third of the costs covered by contributions from the public. We believe that the knowledge we impart will greatly empower these children to build a better future for themselves. The Ashram provides boarding facilities for tribal boys, specifically those from farming backgrounds and children displaced by the Narmada project.
The Blue Lotus Foundation is currently focused on renovating and upgrading the Deva Krupa Ashram in Gujarat, India—a safe haven for over 160 children who come from families displaced by flooding, poverty, or hardship. While the Ashram provides food, shelter, and education, the facilities are in urgent need of repair.
From broken beds and damaged dormitories to unsafe bathrooms and a crumbling food hall, many parts of the Ashram are simply not fit for growing children. The kitchen still relies on wood fire cooking. Study halls lack proper desks. Basic needs like mosquito screens, clean toilets, school supplies, and secure roofing remain unmet.
This project is about more than buildings—it’s about restoring dignity and giving these children a safe, stable place to learn, play, and dream.
Every donation—no matter how small—brings us closer to creating a space where these children can thrive. With your help, we can rebuild hope, one room at a time.

The Food hall was severely damaged through Flood waters which broke the floor in half and ripped the roofing off which you will see in the video.
The Dorms need some attention to the beds, the mattresses, and the windows of which there are none. They are exposed to the rain, heat and cold but mostly to the mosquitoes. We need windows and screens.
The Study hall also requires windows but maintenance to the desks and the general classroom area is required
require attention. 25 years of use without maintenance has left some unsavory conditions which could definitely be improved.
The concept of self sufficiency is of premium importance to the Ashram, for this is our livelihood for the future. We need Labor for the fields and equipment and resources to cultivate crops for our food.
The cooking facilities could definitely use an upgrade. Currently it's a wood fire stove and very modest facilities. We may be able to have bio gas installed and a more modern kitchen to work with. The monthly food bill is very high and we find that we barely make it from month to month.
We could use about 6 to 8 cows for milk and manure. Some more chickens would also be of great benefit, but the cow sheds need maintenance and cows cost money in India.
Currently we are only producing one third or the wheat we need for a year and need funds for further crops and money for food until we produce enough grain for our needs.

The kids need books, pens, pencils, rubbers sharpeners and all the stuff you had as a kid in school. To provide this for 160 children is not easy when your priority is to put food in their mouth.
After the renovations have been done, the whole place could use painting which has never been done in the 25 years of existence.
The kids have never had a playground nor any sports equipment. All boys need a playground and sports. Unfortunately, play is a luxury these kids can only dream of. However, we have the land and a Cricket field can double as a football field and some sporting equipment would make after school a more pleasurable experience.
There are many other costs for running this ashram as you may appreciate. Power bills, Taxes, Fuel and vehicle costs and the costs of staff who help to run the ashram and organize the children.
